Wherever you go in 2008, walk, rideshare, bike, ride Muni

The number of people who commute to work by bicycle in San Francisco doubled between 1990 and 2000 and continues to grow. The Bicycle Program is aware of the increasing need for resources for bicycle commuters and provides services such as bicycle education classes; a map showing bicycle lanes, routes, paths and garage bicycle parking; a 50-page guide addressing safe cycling practices specific to San Francisco; the Coexist campaign which educates cyclists and motorists about rules and responsibilities when sharing the road, as well as many helpful links regarding reporting debris in the roadway, conditions hazardous to cyclists, bicycles on Muni, BART, and other transit agencies.
